So I've beeb working on V.V.'s second anual 'skull-pture' contest. My piece is due on the first wich leaves me pretty much just today and tomarrow to work on it. Even though Im not quite as far along as I would like I have to say My skull is looking pretty damn cool. Right now Im waiting for the first layer of paper mache to dry, but here are some preliminary pictures.
This is an over all view of my skull. The main idea is that the skull is a cave with a big tree growing out of the top of it.
Its hard to see in this picture, but the skull lights up and inside there is a dragon with a hoard of gold. I really didnt think I was going to be able to top last years skull but I think this one might do it. Buh I just wish it would hurry up and dry!
I know that some of you out there dont get a chance to walch Keith Oblerman, but he has become sort of a hero of mine. He says things that I think a lot of us feel, but maybe can articulate and he says them on national television. I wanted to share this video today because I think its important how we shape the way that this aniversary is commemortated. Anyway here it is.
I MUST have one of these!
Yesterday Katy, Aaron, Paige, Napoleon, Jesse and I went to see 'The Dark Night.' Sweet ass. That pretty much somes it up. By far the best Batman movie ever made and probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. Even at PG13 is was twisted to the point were I had to look away in a few parts. I dont know how they squeeked by with a PG13. It was dark, it was funny, action packed, and Christian Bale's horrible 'batman' voice was only midly irritating. Heath Ledgers performance was of course phenominal.
I finally heard back from the Iaido people today. I guess Im going to go in there next Saturday to check it out. Its even cheeper than I thought it was going to be, $25 a month, and there are no contracts. Im very excited. Soon the world will rue the day that Allison learned sword fighting. Its so on.
Today Im going to get glasses. I dont really want to, but its finally gotten to the point that I had to break down and admit that I cant see. I've looked at frames though, and I think that I know what Im going to get and they are pretty cute. I'll post pics later on.
Anyways thats about it. Go see batman if you havent yet. best $9 I've spent in awhile.

I've been thinking lately about getting some new tattoos. The one I think I'll get first is a peony on my foot. here are some designs that I like.
Im really looking for somethin in the Ukeyoe style even though it wont match the tattoo I alreay have. I figure my foot and sholder are a long way apart so I dont think it will look wierd. And anyway I want to get another japanese style tattoo later on, so I guess the bull will be the odd one out anyway.
Still nothing back from the Iaido people. I've been looking them up more online, and like almost everyone in b'ham they seem a little hippish. This might be why they dont check their myspace often enough, and the official web site sucks. I think that I did find out when the classes are (not labled well), and they are apperently on Saturday from 12 to 4. I would have to re arange my work schedule but I dont think that will be much of a problem.
Speaking of martial arts. Paige and I found this compalation in the bargin dvd bin at jesse's work that is 13 Sunny Chiba movies. We started watching them last night and they are hilarious. Watching Japanese fantasy/action movies from the 80's is like watching old episodes of power rangers. Rubber monsters, bad dubing. its great. Last night we watched "Legend of the Eight Samurai," a crazy blend of samurai, princesses, an evil queen, crystals and Shoguns promicing the hand of their daughter to the family dog.
Anyway thats about it. Katy and I went the Bellingham's Pride Parade. It was pretty fun. There was a marching band that was playing 'macho man' and a bunch of other apropriately themed tunes. It made me want to pick up my sax and join in. Those were the days...
So its been a pretty good week.
The long running stand off between superpowers has finally come to an end thanks to succesfull peace talks. With our countries reunited we have been enjoying dinners, shopping and movies. It feels great!
I've been playing spore like crazy! I finally have some of my critters uploaded on the web. Due to some account difficulties they appear under two names Surabhi and Surabhi2 . Type those names into the search and you should come up with my critters. Im pretty proud of the tengu I made today. check it out.
The sprint when through some craziness. The ignition switch is stuck and we had to have it towed home. As bad as that sounds AAA (thanks mom and dad) came through and it was really no hassle. We only had to wait about 15 min for the tow truck to get there. I think we will be able to get it fixed but it looks like I may be walking to work for a couple of days :(
Recently I've gotten the idea in my head to take up martial arts. I think the exercise and discipline would be good for me and seeing that the world is comming to an end I figure some self defence practice is in order. Also any one who knows me knows that Im one of the clumsiest people in the world and anything that can give me a little grace would be a welcome change. I found out that one of the local dojos in the area offers Iaido classes. Iaido is the japanese art of drawing a sword, striking quickly, shaking off the blood and re-sheathing the sword in quick graceful movements. I e-mailed the dojo today for some info and I hope to hear back from them soon. Im super excited about it. Its a really beautiful martial art, and you get to wear the big samurai pants. Double bonus.
Anyways thats about it. If anyone in the B-ham area is interested in learning sword fighting with me I would love the company!

Jesse and I recently bought the Spore creature creator. A prelude to Spore, an online game made by the creators of the sim games, in which you create and evolve creatures from simple organisms to complex space-age civilizations. The creature creator lets players get a jump on their creations before the acctual game comes out later this year.
I cannot get enough of making creatures! Its soooo fun! I have recently decided to specialize in mythical creatures and cryptids (animals as of yet undiscovered by science, bigfoot and the like). Here are some of my favorites.
Also any one who knew me in highschool will recognize these critters.
Eventually when the full game is released, people will be able to visit each others planets and trade creatures. I cant wait!
